Madagascar connection
The Madagascar connection project aims to integrate OpendTect with Madagascar, the open source seismic processing package. With the release of v3.0 OpendTect supports pre-stack data IO and visualization and even more pre-stack functionality can be expected as our PSDM-VMB (Velocity Model Building) project evolves. The plan is to develop a generic user interface to Madagascar, an open-source software package for geophysical data processing and reproducible numerical experiments.

In the Madagascar integration project dGB will develop a processing flow builder to construct and execute Madagascar processing jobs. Processing flows can start from 2D and 3D pre- and post-stack data in either Madagascar or OpendTect format. Likewise results can be saved in both formats. Data stored in OpendTect format can be further analyzed in OpendTect. Furthermore, processing flows constructed in the processing flow builder can be saved and executed directly in OpendTect as an OpendTect attribute for seamless integration with OpendTect's powerful interactive attribute analysis engine.
