I can't import or export files larger than 2GB

You're right - if you are running OpendTect on SGI IRIX or MacOSX. This is a problem with the gcc/g++ compiler and a fix has only been released for the compilers for Linux, Solaris and Windows. This fix is incorporated from OpendTect 2.0.1 onward. We hope to be able to migrate to the new gcc 3.4 compiler for SGI IRIX and MacOSX soontoo.

In the meantime you have no other choice than to split up import and export into chunks smaller than 2 GB. For export, that means export of multiple blocks of inlines. For import, you can merge the parts using the 'Merge' button in the 'File-Manage-Seismics' window. For SEG-Y import, you can already specify multiple input files anyway.
